๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น About TripVenice

Hi, I’m Federico.

I was born and raised in Venice, and TripVenice was created for a simple reason: too many visitors see Venice, but very few truly understand it.

Most travel websites focus on the same places, the same photos and the same clichรฉs.

TripVenice is different.

This project grew from years spent exploring the Venetian Lagoon by boat, discovering islands, hidden corners and the everyday reality of a city unlike any other in the world.

Venice is often imagined as a postcard โ€” gondolas, canals and historic palaces.

But behind that image is a living city where people work, study, receive deliveries, maintain buildings, navigate the lagoon and keep centuries-old traditions alive every day.

Understanding this reality changes how you experience Venice.

๐ŸŒŠ What You’ll Find on TripVenice

TripVenice helps visitors discover:

  • The islands of the Venetian Lagoon
  • Hidden places beyond the usual tourist routes
  • Venice’s history, traditions and curiosities
  • Practical travel advice from a local perspective
  • How Venice actually works behind the postcard image

From transportation and navigation rules to daily life, engineering, traditions and lesser-known islands, the goal is always the same:

To help visitors experience Venice with curiosity, awareness and respect.

๐ŸŒฟ A Local Perspective

Everything on TripVenice is written from a local perspective.

The lagoon is not just a destination to me โ€” it is part of everyday life.

Many articles are based on places I have personally visited, photographed and explored over the years.

Rather than chasing tourist trends, TripVenice focuses on authenticity, accuracy and understanding.

๐Ÿ“ท Exploring Venice Together

Many of the photographs on TripVenice were taken during boat trips across the Venetian Lagoon with my son Leonardo.

What began as a way to spend time together exploring the lagoon gradually became the foundation of this website.

While exploring islands, canals and lesser-known corners of the lagoon, we began documenting places that many visitors never see. Some photos are mine, some are Leonardoโ€™s, and together they tell the story of a Venice that exists beyond the usual postcards.

For us, TripVenice is more than a travel guide.

It is a way to share the Venice we know and love โ€” and to preserve the memory, culture and everyday reality of this unique city for future generations.

๐Ÿค Our Mission

Venice is beautiful, but it is also fragile.

The mission of TripVenice is not simply to show people what to visit.

It is to help visitors understand why Venice matters, how it survives, and why it deserves respect.

Venice is not a theme park.

It is a real city, with real people, real challenges and a history unlike any other place on Earth.

The more people understand Venice as a living city rather than a tourist attraction, the better the future of Venice will be.
